As a survivor of sexual assault, Raquel Fatiuk, Mrs. Texas United States, is a dedicated advocate for other survivors. She is a volunteer for the National Sexual Assault Hotline with the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), a member of RAINN’s Speakers Bureau, and is seeking to change the narrative of “victim blaming” that has become so prevalent in society through her platform, Shift the Blame. This campaign aims to educate the public about the realities of sexual assault by shifting the blame from survivors to where it belongs — on the perpetrators. For more information, visit shifttheblame.org.

Raquel specializes in numerous fields, including music, photography, event coordination and modeling. She frequently serves as a guest instructor at Page Parkes Center for Modeling and Acting, and she trained as an opera singer at the Hartt School and the San Francisco Conservatory. During her first professional opera engagement, Raquel met her husband John, who also sings opera. Together, they live with their two dogs in Houston, TX.
